Single Fathers
While most know of the millions of women who are playing the sole parental role in their household, very few are aware that single fathers are in need of just as much assistance as single mothers. While mothers have a plethora of programs and support groups to help care for their children, the sad reality is that many of these same programs are not available for fathers in the same situation. In fact, just the basic ability to change a child’s diaper is nonexistence in most public settings for single fathers.
By the end of 2020, 3.2 million children within the United States live with only their fathers. A quarter of these fathers have not completed college and they average only around $40,000 annually. Because these men have very limited resources, they struggle to maintain a quality of life for both themselves and their children which is a hardship for single fathers. They are treated unequal because the general population believes that children belong with their mothers.
A Better Quality of Life provides kind acts of service to assist single fathers who need help with day-to-day functions. We aim to partner with donors, volunteers, organizations, and corporation to give single fathers the support they need in raising a child in a one parent household, bring guidance, and provide comfort to those who are experiencing the pressures of single fatherhood.
Our services for single fathers include but are not limited to:
Nanny care which allows single fathers to work better jobs so they can provide for their families
Transportation to get both fathers and their children where they need to go such as doctor’s appointments, school, and work.
Meal preparation for fathers who do not have the ability and/or the time to provide nutritional meals for their children.
Housekeeping to help maintain a clean home environment.
Homework support to help their children in their studies.

Young Minorities
With the breakout of the devastating coronavirus which has plagued our world since 2020, young adults are in dire need of assistance with navigating life’s choices. By the end of 2020, over 52% of young adults were forced to move back in with their parents as a result of not being able to take care of themselves. 1 out of every 3 reported not being financially literate and another 3 out of 4 admitted to not being confident in their ability to make financial decisions. This tells us that there is a major disconnect between some of life’s most important concepts (i.e. money management) and the knowledge of our young adults.
Although 71% of Fortune 500 companies have a mentoring program, only 37% of professionals actually have a mentor. That number is even less with young adults. Having a mentor has a multitude of benefits including a greater chance of career advancement, more learning and development opportunities, not to mention a greater chance of minority representation at the management level.
In addition to mentorship, having a life coach can also aid young adults as they make decisions. 80% of persons who receive life coaching report improved self-esteem or self-confidence. Another 73% claim that coaching helps them improve their relationships, communication skills, interpersonal skills, work performance, work/life balance, and wellness. With all of the benefits of life coaching, it is evident that we need to incorporate this service into our young adult’s toolbox. The more confident and happier they are with their skillset, the more they can accomplish as future leaders of the world.
A Better Quality of Life provides kind acts of service to young adults who need guidance in managing life’s many nuances. We aim to partner with donors, volunteers, organizations and corporations to give young adults the support they need to eliminate any negative stigma and be successful.
Our services for young adults include but are not limited to:
Financial literacy classes to ensure that young adults know about credit, savings, money management, and budgeting.
Entrepreneur workshops to teach young adults how to build streams of income for themselves and their families.
Life coach and mentorship programs to create networking opportunities that allow for more lucrative careers.

Widowhood
A person can never be fully prepared for the death of one’s significant other. Widowhood has been ranked as the #1 most significant adverse life event on the Holmes/Rahe stress scale. By the end of 2020, 3.48 million widowed men and 11.27 million widowed women were living within the U.S. The estimated number of widowed persons worldwide was approximately 350 million, with approximately 80% being women. This is highly due to the life expectancy of women being slightly longer than their male counterparts. Once one reaches the age of 75, the numbers increase even more to 86% of person experiencing the death of a spouse. While some remarry, others do in fact remain alone.
The sadness, anxiety and loneliness over the loss of a spouse or life partner can have detrimental effects on the psychological, social, physical and economic well-being of the surviving spouse, especially among the elderly, for the rest of their lives. When a spouse passes away, the widowed person has an increased risk of dying over the next few months, often referred to as the widowhood effect. Elderly widows and widowers living on their own are likely to benefit from an active and strong support network of family and friends to help counteract the grief, anxiety, and loneliness of losing a spouse. Also, effective counseling may be helpful for the recently widowed.
It is increasingly evident that the plight of widowed persons is not only a moral issue, but also one that has systemic implications for societies that threaten economic and social stability. Widowhood remains an important risk factor for transition into poverty.
A Better Quality of Life provides kind acts of service to widowed persons that need help during one of the most difficult times of their lives. We aim to partner with donors and volunteers to bring some comfort and relief to hurting widows. With the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors A Better Quality of Life will bridge the gap of despair by providing hope in the form of services!
Our services for widowed persons include but are not limited to:
Quality time to help ease some of the struggles with now being alone without a partner which involve reading books, taking walks, and other activities.
Meal preparation for widowed persons who do not have the ability and/or the time to provide nutritional meals for themselves.
Grooming to make sure that they are using proper hygiene.
